One thing I’ve learned while trying to eat better is to be very label-conscious – watching out for supposedly healthy items that turn out to have crazy amounts of sugar, for example. Or you can just search for something specific. You can browse by category, cuisine, course, occasion, or dietary needs – including gluten-free, lactose-free, vegetarian, vegan, and more. I like the simple UI in the Healthy Recipes app – as it’s easy to get around quickly and find recipes that are of interest. Healthy Recipes has been the one that gave me a good comfort level quickly and didn’t scare me off. There are a huge number of cooking and cookbook apps for the iPad and I’ve looked at and installed quite a few of them. I’m just about the perfect target audience for this app, because I’m continually trying to eat healthier but my cooking skills are pretty much non-existent. The app’s name lets you know what’s on offer – a great collection of healthy recipes – over 500,000 in fact – from, which is touted as the world’s largest healthy recipes site. This week’s pick is Healthy Recipes by SparkRecipes for iPad, which I’m going to shorten to Healthy Recipes in the rest of this post to try to keep my wrists healthy.
